Review by hotel critic
As a traveler hailing from the bustling state of New York, staying at the Victorian Retreat in York was an absolute delight. the location was impeccable, just a stone's throw away from the ancient walls of York and a short walk to the picturesque river that meandered through the city to open fields. The apartment itself was beautifully decorated, with a lovely mix of modern amenities and Victorian charm. the kitchen was fully equipped with an oven, microwave, and even a coffee machine, perfect for whipping up a breakfast feast after a restful night's sleep on the comfortable sofa bed. One of the highlights of our stay was the complimentary Continental breakfast provided on our first morning, a thoughtful touch that set the tone for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. the friendly owners greeted us warmly and even left a welcome pack of essentials like milk, orange juice, croissants, and jam. Bishy Road, a charming street filled with independent shops and cafes, was just around the corner, offering plenty of opportunities for leisurely strolls and delicious meals. And with the York City Walls a mere 500 meters away, we had easy access to explore the rich history and culture of this beautiful city. From the convenient location to the cozy atmosphere and welcoming hosts, it truly felt like a home away from home. I would highly recommend this hidden gem to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable stay in York.
